The mission of the Lake Sumter Children's Advocacy
Center (CAC) is to provide a child-friendly, community based
facility where a child victim can be safely interviewed, provided
with crisis counseling, receive medical exams and be assisted in
receiving long-term counseling, when needed.
The CAC shall also assist in the coordination of any legal
investigations as well as in providing intervention services by
bringing together professionals and agencies as a multidisciplinary
team to create a victim-focused approach to the crimes of sexual
assault and physical abuse of children.
Our philosophies and practices operate in accordance with community
directives established by the U.S.
Department of Justice for victims rights and services.
