ONE TIME DATE CHANGE FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL LEESBURG BIKEFEST!

The Leesburg Bikefest will be changing the date of the 15th Annual Leesburg Bikefest for 2011 ONLY! The Leesburg Bikefest will host its annual event on April 8, 9 & 10, 2011.

 Due to the 2011 dates, Easter falls on our traditional weekend. “When trying to adjust our dates we were faced with a tough decision, the last weekend in April being the Panama City Bike Rally, and Mother’s Day being the first weekend in May and anything later than that would be too hot to host an entirely outside event”, stated Joe Shipes, Executive Vice President of the Leesburg Partnership.

 The preference for dates would have been the same weekend Panama City has currently scheduled their event, however having both events on the same weekend puts them each in a major competition for the same vendors and participants. “We are also very sensitive to what is happening with the Oil Disaster and the Gulf Coast cities and do not want to further complicate or negatively impact their events”, stated Joe Shipes.

 The promoters have already begun making plans for the biggest and best Leesburg Bikefest ever! Celebrating 15th years says a lot for an event that started off in a parking lot with 10 vendors and about 5000 bikers. This milestone will be marked with the enhancements of many traditional Bikefest activities. The Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show, Tried and Tattoo Expo & Show and exceptional vendors will again be part of the event. Great concerts with a more diverse style and genre are currently under negotiations.

Although the traditional weekend has always been and will be again in 2012 the last full weekend in April, mark your calendars now for the 15th Annual Leesburg Bikefest on April 8, 9 and 10, 2011 (Leesburg Bikefest will be April 27, 28 & 29 in 2012).
