Central Florida
Armwrestling
Tournament
Good Day
Everyone!
It's been a while (actually almost 6 years), since I conducted a tournament in Florida.
Hopefully some of you remember me from the Panhandle from 1998 through 2002.
We are conducting the Central Florida Championships....open to anyone, from any state.
If you all remember we had quit a few tournaments in the Fort Walton Beach area.
Well, I'm fortunate to be able to team up with couple of guys I respect and look up to.
First, the man who inspired me as a kid and I won my first tournament back in 1976, my brother, World
Champion, Apache Dann Carr. We are co-directing this tournament and future Florida tournaments.
The other integral member of our team is, Marty Francis, from Cycle Rider Radio, "The Big Guy". He is our
main promoter. Not only is he the promoter, he is an Armwrestling enthusiast.
Through him we have a new venue, Bikefest.
As you can see in the attached, the Central Florida Championships will be held on
April 26, 2008, at Leesburg Bikefest, Leesburg, FL. Not to jump ahead; but, to just let you
know how serious we are, plans
are already being finalized for a tournament in October 2008 at the Sanford Bikefest, Sanford, FL.
For those who know me. I like to conduct several tournaments a year. I try my best to recruit
new Armwrestlers into the tournaments (there are hidden champions out there). The other thing I
take pride in, I like to bring in world class
Armwrestlers, like yourselves
I have sent this e-mail too. By doing this, it "ups" everyone's game.
IMPORTANT: Not only are there World and National Champions among you in Armwrestling.
But, more important, I have gotten to know you a few years ago and you all are World-Class
people. So, I am hoping that some of you will be able ot makeit to this
tournament as I get started organizing and bringing to you more topnotch Armwrestling tournaments.
I left in 2002 for overseas, Turkey. I was in the Air Force and I retired from the Air
Force after
nearly 25 years in 2006 from the Cocoa Beach area.
I have a tall order. Charles Warmack,
Florida's AAA director and the rest of the crew like, Chris Colletti
(previous state director) and James Battles, Steve Myers, Carey Nick, Steve Dedge
(which I remember helping with the Rally in Tally), and all the rest of you, have
definitely brought Florida's Armwrestling tournaments to
the highest level.
Okay, I've made this e-mail much too long than what I
anticipated. Here are some plans for the Armwrestling tournaments we are conducting. About 2 weeks
before the Central Florida Armwrestling Championships, ESPN radio will be doing some spots. We are
working on the tournaments being televised on Sunshine Sports Television, not finalized for this tournament;
however, working hard to make it happen for this one or in October. Some huge venues are seriously
looking at us for Atlanta, Atlantic City, and NY tournaments. That's just a highlight of what we are
currently doing.
After saying all that, we are maintaining the integrity of the great sport. A truly working
man's sport (and working woman's sport). We will be promoting outstanding sportsmanship conduct (Greg
Helms was a true champion and promoter in this arena) throughout our tournaments and obtaining best
exposure of the participants and the sport.
Like I said, this e-mail is more than I meant. However, I'm excited to
team up with my brother, Apache Dann Carr and Marty Francis.
Please, I'd be thrilled to hear from any of you, whether you can make it to the
Central Florida Championships or not.
Also, if anyone is interested in being a sponsor and contributing,
making it even better for the contestants, just let me know. I give
props to Chris Colletti, he was the most unselfish and humble sponsor
and promoter. I haven't forgotten!
NOTE: Please feel free to pass on my e-mail as many people as
possible and post on any website. Plus, most of my e-mail addresses
I have from 6 years ago are outdated. Additionally,if you would
like some copies of the attached flyer to disseminate or display, I would
be glad to mail them to you. Just e-mail me your complete
address and the number of copies. Also a phone number I can reach you
at.
Looking forward hearing from you all.
